Fertility testing for couples
Gala Fertility tests both partners together. One shared intake, her bloodwork and pelvic ultrasound at a location near you, his semen analysis with a kit sent home, and a clinician who reviews every result and explains them to you both.
For male-female couples, both partners 18 or older.

Why we test both of you
Trying to conceive involves two people, so the workup looks at both partners. Your clinician reviews both histories and both sets of results before deciding what comes next.

How testing works
- Answer one intake, together. Your health and history, with a few questions for each of you. All online, from your sofa.
- Get tested. Her bloodwork and ultrasound at a location near you (the lab takes walk-ins). His semen analysis with a kit at home.
- Meet your clinician. Every result reviewed, then explained to you both on one video visit.

A full workup for both of you
All of it is included. Open any test to see what it measures.
Her
Fertility hormonesAMH, FSH, estradiol, LH, prolactin and TSH.
AMH gives an estimate of ovarian reserve. FSH, estradiol and LH show how your ovaries and brain are signaling at the start of your cycle. Prolactin and thyroid (TSH) can both affect ovulation.
Preconception screeningHIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, plus immunity to chickenpox (varicella), rubella and measles.
Infections are best treated before trying to conceive, and it helps to know whether you are protected against infections that matter in pregnancy. Chlamydia and gonorrhea use a urine sample.
Pelvic ultrasoundA transvaginal ultrasound of the ovaries and uterus.
It counts the small follicles in each ovary and looks for cysts, fibroids or differences in the shape of the uterus. A clinician orders it after reviewing your intake, and the imaging team contacts you to book it.
Bloodwork at a Quest lab, walk in, no appointment needed. Go on day 2 to 5 of your period (day 1 is the first day of full flow): the cycle-day hormones are read then.
Him
HormonesFSH, LH, TSH, total and free testosterone, and SHBG.
These show how the hormones behind sperm production are working, and check thyroid function.
Semen analysisVolume, pH, concentration, motility and morphology.
How much semen there is, how many sperm, how well they move and how they are shaped. We tell you exactly how to complete it once your clinician requests it.
If your clinician indicates it, bloodwork at a Quest lab, walk in, no appointment needed. His results live in your shared account.
Questions, answered
Do we both get tested?
Yes. The program includes her bloodwork and pelvic ultrasound, his at-home semen analysis kit, and his bloodwork if indicated. You share one intake and a video visit to discuss the results together.
Does he need to do anything?
Yes. He answers his part of the intake and completes a semen analysis with a kit sent to his home. If your clinician indicates it, he also goes to a Quest lab for bloodwork. He does not need his own login: his results show in your shared account.
How is the ultrasound booked?
A clinician orders it after reviewing your intake, and the imaging team contacts her to schedule it at a location near you.
When do we see our results?
In your portal, once a clinician has reviewed them. Your video visit then covers what they mean and what comes next.
What if a result comes back out of range?
Your clinician reviews it, explains it and tells you what comes next. That can mean more testing, treating an infection before any fertility treatment, a vaccine through your primary care provider if you are not immune, or a referral.
